GNOMES, NORDIC ART AND FOLKLORE INSPIRED BY MAGICAL CHILDHOOD MEMORIES
This week’s Art Vlog has a Wintery Nordic theme based on my love for Gnomes, my first love of magic and myth from my childhood. I talk about my childhood memory of my grandfather’s folklore cure and paint a meaningful work of art in time for the holidays using watercolours, gouache, and gel pens.
I do hope this video inspires you into thinking about a childhood memory that felt magical to you and perhaps inspire you to think of how you could incorporate it and perhaps your family’s culture and background into a work of art of your own.
Want to create your own but want a lesson? This vlog is just a time-lapse to inspire you, but I created a circular pattern using my Drawing Mandalas Techniques from last week’s Vlog where I showed a free step-by-step DIY mandala – so do watch both vlogs if you’d like the practical tips on how to get started!
As I mentioned in today’s vlog, I am including a free download of my little templates you can print, cut out, and use for tracing here:
