As I mentioned in my last Vlog before the New Year, I’ve been working on a new offering – patterns of my work in cross stitch. I’ve been teaching myself a new software to do this and thought I would share this very simple, but sweet pattern with you.
Please feel free to download the PDF – Laura Daub Gnome for the Holidays
I didn’t include the colour key for it, as I only had black and white threads in mind – 2 strands of DMC floss is suggested for this pattern on 14 ct aida cloth. Do stitch it up any way you see fit with any colours you’d love to see on it and make it as festive as you’d like! I think a nice variegated red floss would be simple, elegant and beautiful. As you can see below, I’ve been working on a variation to the pattern in colour. I made the pattern smaller for you too, so you won’t have as many stitches to do as I’ve been working on here. I didn’t include any cross stitch instructions as this pattern might be for anyone who has either had some experience with cross stitch or for anyone who might feel inspired to try it… I recommend grabbing some tea and chocolate and nestle in to dive into YouTube videos on how to cross stitch… the perfect winter indoor activity in my opinion!!! It’s very easy to learn and do, but good to learn about different types of patterns, stitches, fabrics, etc.
